IPCCA recently announced the official appointment of Dr. Chan Yuk Shing, William as Honorary President of the Association, in recognition of his outstanding contributions and leadership in the fields of financial education, risk management, and sustainable development.
Dr. Chan has over thirty years of experience in the financial industry and higher education, with a strong academic and professional background. His academic achievements include:
A Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from Apollos University in the United States, recognised by the UK's National Recognition Information Centre (NARIC) and the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ) as a doctoral-level qualification;
A Master of Accounting from Lingnan University (AACSB-accredited), and currently serves as the Honorary Treasurer of the university's Graduate Alumni Association (2020-2024);
Master of Applied Finance from Charles Sturt University in Australia and multiple international financial licenses (holder of Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) Licenses 1, 4, and 9).
In his professional field, Dr. Chan has recently been selected as:
Technical Expert Member (SIRM) of the Institute of Risk Management (IRM) in the UK (July 2025);
Vice President of the Hong Kong Certified ESG Strategists Association (June 2024);
Honorary Advisor to the Hong Kong Association of Accounting Professionals (October 2024).
His professional experience spans both academia and financial practice:
▶ Currently serves as Business Development Director at Kietex Capital (an SFC-licensed institution), leading asset management and corporate finance operations;
▶ Concurrently serves as a lecturer for the SCOPE Financial Investment Course at City University of Hong Kong (since 2021) and the PEAK Insurance Risk Management Course at the Vocational Training Council (since 2018), and has previously served as a visiting professor at international institutions such as the Manchester Business School and the University of Central California;
▶ Previously worked at institutions such as the Bank of Belgium and the China National Bank Group, overseeing credit and commercial banking operations.
Dr. Chan has long been committed to fostering talent development in the industry, receiving long-service awards from institutions such as the Open University of Hong Kong and Manchester Business School, and serving as a judge for the ‘Hong Kong Annual University Student Financial Planner’ award from 2021 to 2023. His pioneering work in green finance (certified by the Hong Kong Green Finance Certification GTP-403223) and ESG strategy has set a benchmark for sustainable development in the financial industry across the Asia-Pacific region.
